IVF Acupuncture Research
British Medical Journal Manheimer, et al., (2008) meta analysis of the effects of acupuncture to pregnancy rates for women having IVF:
- Seven trials with 1366 women undergoing IVF were included in the meta analysis.
- All studies were Randomised Controlled Trials.
- All studies involved acupuncture treatment on the day of Embryo Transfer (ET).
CONCLUSION: The authors of the meta analysis concluded that there was preliminary evidence to suggest acupuncture done on the day of ET improves pregnancy and successful births.
BMJ EDITORIAL: Adding acupuncture to IVF improved pregnancy rates more than any other recent improvement or advance in IVF technology.
Fertility & Sterility
